SCSO arrest a suspect in a case of striking an Officer

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reports responding to calls about a person parked along the side of a driveway inhaling something.

When a Deputy arrived on the scene in the Mt. Olive area of the county the subject fled  striking a Deputy with her vehicle.

The subject was found later along Route 11 and was apprehended without incident.

Natasia S. James of Middletown has now been charged with an attempt to cause bodily harm to a Law Enforcement Officer.

The 39 year old James also faces charges of  felony eluding law enforcement, driving under the influence and deliberately inhaling a drug or noxious chemical substance.

James is currently being held in the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional jail.
