SCSO Participates in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign
18 August 2017 News
August 17, 2017 marked the start of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. This two week national campaign will end on September 3. In an effort to detour impaired driving, Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office staff will be conducting selected enforcement patrols and sobriety check points to keep our community roads safe.
Drivers are urged to wear seatbelts, use caution and designate a sober driver if your driving might be impaired. Drivers are urged to take these precautions not only during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign but always. DUI arrests can include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspensions and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office is able to conduct these enforcement efforts from funds that are given by the state of Virginia thru a grant.
