Seminar to be Held on New I-81 Fuels Tax
A tax compliance seminar is being held in Winchester tomorrow (6/12/2019) to help train those responsible for the collection and remittance of Virginia’s new fuels tax.
The new tax was proposed by Governor Northam and approved by the General Assembly in April; the extra money it will raise is intended to go towards billions of dollars worth of infrastructure improvements to Interstate 81.
The Virginia Petroleum and Convenience Marketers Association is working in conjunction with Virginia’s Department of Motor Vehicles to make their seminar on the tax possible. The fuels tax changes along the I-81 corridor will take effect on July 1, 2019; topics at the VPCMA event will include registration, collection, necessary forms, record keeping, and electronic remission. It will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Winchester at 8:30 a.m.
