Seven Bends Park Discussed at Supervisors Meeting

12 June 2019 Shenandoah County News

Shenandoah County’s Seven Bends State Park was a topic of discussion at last week’s Board of Supervisors meeting.

Representatives from VDOT said Thursday (6/6/2019) that it will be four years before needed improvements to access roads and bridges into the park would begin. Hollingsworth Road and Lupton Road are the main obstacles facing officials; according to VDOT’s Edinburg Residency Assistant Administrator Ed Carter, the bridge on Hollingsworth Road limits vehicles to 10 tons and is deemed structurally deficient. State Senator Mark Obenshain said during the meeting that he and Delegate Todd Gilbert have pushed for money to make improvements possible.
