Shenandoah Sheriff’s Office Makes Major Drug Bust

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has made a major drug bust near New Market.

Yesterday (4/4/2019), the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Waynesboro City Police Department Narcotics Unit regarding narcotics activity in the area. As a result of the investigation into that activity, several thousand dollars, a large quantity of of methamphetamine, and heroin was located and seized. Two men believed to be responsible for distributing several pounds of crystal meth to the region were arrested as well: 29-year-old Daniel Juberto Grijalba-Pierto of Odesa, Texas, and 41-year old Javier Garcia Ortiz. In a statement, the Sheriff’s Office said that they are still working this case in coordination with the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force, the Waynesboro City Police Department, and the DEA.
