24 August 2016 Sports

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University field hockey team is the No. 4 selection of the ODAC coaches in preseason poll results released Tuesday morning by the league office.

Shenandoah has 46 points in the poll to come in just two points back of defending ODAC champion Bridgewater in the poll.

Washington and Lee, who rallied for a 3-2 win over the Hornets in the 2015 ODAC Tournament semi-finals, is the pick to win it all in 2016. The Generals have 62 points and six first place votes to outdistance perennial power Lynchburg for the top spot.

Voting was done on an 8-1 basis with coaches unable to vote for their own team in the poll.
