SNP closes several trails during missing person search

The Shenandoah National Park (SNP) announced the closures of six trails around the Mathews Arm’s area.

The closures were due to the ongoing search for a man who has been missing since May 5.

Mateo Luis Cobo Zevallos was last seen leaving home enroute to George Mason University.

Zevallos’s vehicle, a gray 2020 Honda Civic Sedan with Virginia tags was found parked in the parking lot at mile marker 21 on the Skyline Drive.

The 21-year-old Zevallos is a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 9 inches tall weighing approximately 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Zevallos was last seen wearing gray sweatpants black and white adidas sneakers, a gray/black/brown flannel shirt and maybe carrying a green north face backpack.

Zevallos may need medical attention.
