SPCA hosting virtual dog-walking challenge

21 April 2020 Covid19 Winchester Frederick County Clarke County News

The SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke Counties will be hosting a Virtual Canine Quarantine Outdoor Challenge. The event is an opportunity for pet owners to take the time to show kindness to their pets, who have been a stable source of comfort during this time of crisis.

To participate, register online and use a personal fitness app to track how far you’ve walked or run with your dog between May 3 and May 9. Be sure to share pictures of you and your pets on social media. You can tag @spcaofwinchesterfrederickandclarke and use the hashtags #caninequarantineoutdoorchallenge, #petsforlife, and #spcavirtualchallenge.

Registration for the event does require a one-time donation of any amount. Every dollar helps. All donations from the event go to the SPCA’s Pets for Life program, which helps pet owners negatively impacted by COVID-19.
