SPCA to host Dr. Seuss Day celebration

On Monday, March 2, the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke counties is inviting students of all ages to celebrate National Read Across America Day, also known as Dr. Seuss Day. At the pet adoption center, students will read “What Pet Should I Get?” by Dr. Seuss to the shelter pets and enjoy Seuss inspired refreshments and activities. Doors open at 10 a.m. and half price adoptions are being offered. The main event will begin at 3 p.m. This event is a collaboration between Gifts Giving Back and the SPCA to encourage reading, enhance the human-animal bond and have some Dr. Seuss inspired fun.
