Speed May Have Been Factor in Fatal Clarke Co. Crash

18 June 2019 Clarke County News

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal Clarke County crash that took place over the weekend.

A Honda Accord was traveling south on Route 340 Sunday (6/16/2019) when it crossed the center-line, colliding head on with a northbound Chevy Silverado just south of Annfield Road. The driver of the Honda, 33-year-old Jeffrey Woodward of White Post, died at the scene. The Chevy’s driver and passenger were both hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries; the 58-year-old Purcellville man behind the wheel was taken to the Winchester Medical Center, while the Chevy’s 59-year-old female passenger was flown to the INOVA Hospital in Fairfax. Due to prior engagement with the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, speed is being considered a factor in this crash.
