Nats Take Getaway Game From SF, SU Update, Caps-Canes Series Now Tied
Shenandoah University softball completed it’s regular season yesterday as Virginia Wesleyan swept the Hornets 9-1 and 15-3. SU finishes at 18-21 and 7-13 in the ODAC, and now awaits the completion of the league schedule to see if it qualifies for the conference tournament.

Baseball entertains Hampden-Sydney in a Saturday doubleheader
The Washington Nationals doubled up the San Francisco Giants yesterday 4-2, as Patrick Corbin gave up just 1 run on 2 hits in 7 2/3 innings. Wilmer Difo homered for the Nats, who now head to Miami to start a 3-game weekend series. Air time is 6:40 on Sports Radio 1450.
The scrappy Orioles nipped the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 in 11 innings last night. The 8-12 Birds return to Camden Yards to take on the Minnesota Twins tonight at 7:05.
The Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes are now tied at 2 games apiece after the ‘Canes 2-1 win last night in Raleigh. Carolina scored in the game’s first 17 seconds for an early 1-0 lead. Alex Ovechkin tied matters at 1 with a power-play goal midway through period 2, only to see the Hurricanes get the go-ahead tally with less than a minute left in the frame. The Caps lost TJ Oshie to injury in the contest, as the series now shifts back to DC for pivotal game 5.
