Nats Opener PPD, Caps Doubled Up By Isles, SU Football This Weekend

The Washington Nationals postponed their Opening Night game against the New York Mets last night due to multiple positive COVID tests on the team. According to sources, at least four Nats players have tested positive for the virus, and a fifth has shown symptoms. It’s now unclear when the Nationals will open their 2021 season.

The Baltimore Orioles opener with Boston was also postponed, in more traditional way–by rain. The two teams will give it a go today at 2:10 at Fenway Park.

The Washington Capitals were doubled up by the New York Islanders last night 8-4. The Isles poured in 4 goals in the first period in dealint the Caps their second straight loss. John Carlson had 2 goals for Washington, who continue their road trip tonight in New Jersey. Air time is 6:45 on The River 95-3.

On the Shenandoah University scoreboard, number-3 Washington & Lee outscored Women’s Lacrosse 16-8, while Men’s Soccer dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to Randolph-Macon. Men & Women’s Tennis, Track & Field, and Field Hockey are in action today.

Shenandoah University Football will take to the Sprint Field of Shentel Stadium tomorrow in the Spring season finale against Bridgewater. This will be the rubber match between the two teams, who have played each other twice this season. Air time is 4:30 on The River 95-3.

And the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament resumes tomorrow with the Final Four. Houston takes on Baylor at 5:14, while UCLA plays Gonzaga at 8:34. The River 95-3 will join the coverage in progress after SU football. The two winners play Monday night for the National Championship.
