Hornets Update, Nats Back In DC, ‘Skins Take QB In NFL Draft

No SU athletic events were scheduled yesterday. Today,
Men’s tennis hosts Randolph Macon
And, softball plays Game 1 of the ODAC tournament against Virginia Wesleyan in Salem.

The weekend schedule includes baseball in action against Guilford, and golf competing in the ODAC Championships.

The Washington Redskins used the 15th overall pick in the NFL Draft to choose Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins. The Potomac, Maryland product threw for over 4800 yards in his lone season as the Buckeye’s starter in 2018. The ‘Skins also traded to get the 26th overall pick, and took Mississippi State linebacker Montez Sweat.
Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray was the overall number one pick
last night by the Arizona Cardinals. The NFL Draft continues today in Nashville.

The Washington Nationals return home tonight to face Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres to start a 3-game weekend series. Max Scherzer gets the ball for the Nats, who are 11-12 on the season.
Scherzer is off to a 1-3 start, with a 4.45 ERA. Air time is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450

And the Orioles start a weekend set in Minnesota tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10.
