SU Schedule, Caps Fall To Pens In OT, WFT Draft Pick

On the Shenandoah University sports schedule today, Track & Field competes at the ODAC Outdoor Championships, and Women’s Lacrosse plays 2-seed Roanoke in the ODAC Semifinals. This weekend, Baseball, Softball, Men’s Lacrosse, and Men’s Tennis will be in action.

The Washington Capitals lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins last night in overtime 5-4. The Caps and Pens are now tied for first place in the NHL’s Eastern Division with 69 points. The two teams face off again tomorrow starting at 6:45 on the River 95-3.

With the number 19 overall pick in last night’s NFL Draft, the Washington Football Team chose Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis. Davis is thought by some to be the most athletic linebacker in the draft, with ESPN’s Mel Kiper, Jr. listing Davis as the 14th best prospect overall. As expected, Jacksonville chose Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The NFL Draft continues through Saturday.

The Washington Nationals are back in action tonight when they start a weekend series against Miami. Despite being 9-12, the Nats are just one game out of first place in a sub .500 NL East. Air time tonight is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.

And, the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place tomorrow at Churchill Downs. A limited number of fans will be allowed for the 6:57 pm post time. Essential Quality is the 2-to-1 favorite.
