The Shenandoah University Athletic Department has entered into a 5-year partnership with BSN Athletics & Under Armour, Inc. for its equipment and apparel needs. Effective immediately, SU’s 21 intercollegiate programs will transition to UA for all on-field equipment and apparel. Leading the way will be men’s basketball, both lacrosse teams, softball, and women’s soccer.
Aaron Nola staked his claim to this year’s Cy Young award by outdueling Max Scherzer yesterday in a 2-0 Philadelphia win over the Nationals. Scherzer, despite striking out 10 and giving up only 2 hits in 7 innings, surrendered a 2-run homer to Odubal Hererra for the game’s only runs…while Nola pitched 8 innings of 5-hit, shutout ball for the Phils. The Nats now travel to New York tonight to take on the Mets.
The Orioles start a series tonight against the Yankees at Camden Yards.
The Washington Redskins entertain the Denver Broncos tonight in pre-season week 3. Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson will not play. The Ravens will be in Miami tomorrow to take on the Dolphins.
It’s so-called “Week Zero” in college football, with a handful of games on tap this weekend. Most of the major conferences start next weekend.
And the Fed-Ex Cup Playoffs are underway on the PGA Tour. 4 players share the lead at 5-under par after yesterday’s opening round. Tiger Woods is 4 shots back at 1-under.
