Area HS Schedule…College Football Takes Center Stage…Ravens Top Skins
There was some area high school football last night:
Justice downed James Wood 28-21
Loudoun County beat Millbrook 49-28
Rappahannock vs West Point was postponed
Warren County hosts Kettle Run on NBC SportsRadio 1450. Air time is 6:50
Sherando hosts Jefferson
Clarke visits Manassas Park
Strasburg goes to Luray
and Page hosts Nelson County
Tomorrow, Handley hosts Harrisonburg
The Baltimore Ravens outscored the Washington Redskins in the preseason finale for both teams, 30-20. Both the Ravens and ‘Skins open up for real next weekend. Washington will travel to Arizona next Sunday, while the Ravens open up at home against Buffalo.
College football takes center stage this weekend as the top teams and conferences begin play. Regionally, JMU will travel to NC State tomorrow at noon. UVA will host Richmond Saturday at 6, while number-17 WVU will Play Tennessee in Charlotte, NC, tomorrow at 3:30. The Labor weekend wraps up Monday night with Va Tech visiting Florida State in a battle of top-20 teams. The Shenandoah Hornets begin their 2018 season tomorrow at 12:30 at Methodist (NC) on The River 95-3.
The Nats are back in action tonight to begin a 3-game set in Milwaukee, while the Orioles are in Kansas City…with plenty of seats available. The O’s and Royals have a combined 82 wins going into September.
And…at the US Open, no major upsets yesterday. Today, Venus and Serena Williams will face off against each other.
