Area HS Hoop, Chargers Shock The Chiefs, Nats Trade Tanner For Tanner

Rappahannock lost to Riverheads 49-45
and Seton defeated SVCA 45-35
In boys hoop:
Wakefield Country Day beat Fresta Valley Christian 40-32
All quiet on the Shenandoah University sports scene on this finals week. A reminder that SU is offering free admission to the men’s basketball game Monday against Mary Washington. Tip off is at noon at the Wilkins Center. The play-by-play can be heard on The River 95-3.
The Los Angeles Chargers came from 3 separate 14-point deficits last night to upset the Kansas City Chiefs 29-28 in the NFL Thursday Night game. Phillip Rivers tossed a late touchdown pass to Mike Williams, and the pair connected on the game-winning 2-point conversion with just seconds remaining. The two teams are now tied for the AFC West lead at 11-3.
This weekend, the Washington Redskins will travel to Jacksonville. The ‘Skins are still in the hunt for an NFC playoff spot at 6-7.
The Ravens entertain Tampa Bay Sunday at 1. Lamar Jackson will start at quarterback for Baltimore, despite the return of a healthy Joe Flacco.
The Washington Nationals have traded right handed starter Tanner Roark to the Reds in return for reliever Tanner Rainey. Roark had mainly been in the Nats starting rotation since 2014, but last year suffered a National League high 15 losses. Rainey spent most of last seasonat Triple-A Louisville.
And, The Washington Capitals will be in Carolina tonight to face the Hurricanes. Air time is 7:15 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
