SU Schedule Changes, Area HS Hoop, Caps Stop Sharks

Some schedule changes for Shenandoah University athletics this weekend. The men’s basketball game scheduled for Saturday at 2 against Randolph will instead be played tonight at 7 at the Wilkins Center. the game is the season finale for the Hornet Men, and can be heard on The River 95-3.
The baseball doubleheader with nationally-ranked Misericordia will be played this afternoon starting at 1pm at Bridgeforth Field. For other changes, check the SU website, suhornets.com
The women’s basketball game at Lynchburg tomorrow will be played as scheduled.
The Capitals stopped the San Jose Sharks 5-game win streak last night with a 5-1 road win. Alex Ovechkin scored his NHL league-leading 39th goal as the Caps improved to 32-19-7 on the season. Next up, a Sunday night skate at Anaheim. Face off is 9pm on Sports Radio 1450.
And, this weekend, The Daytona 500 kicks off the NASCAR Cup Series.
The so-called “Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing” this year features the youngest starting row in Daytona 500 history, as William Byron and Alex Bowman represent Hendrick Motorsports. The checkered flag drops at 2:30.
