Nats Outlast Jays, Yanks Beat O’s (Again), SEC Announces Schedule

The Washington Nationals pounded out 13 hits on their way to a 6-4 win over Toronto yesterday. Newcomer Starlin Castro went 4-for-5 to lead the Nats’ attack, while Michael A. Taylor belted a 2-run homer.
The 3-4 Nationals have the weekend off due to the coronavirus outbreak among the Miami Marlins. The Nats will be in action again Tuesday against the New York Mets. Air time is 6:35 on CBS Sports Radio 1450.

The Baltimore Orioles dug out of an early 5-0 hole, took a 6-5 lead into the 9th inning, only to see the New York Yankees prevail 8-6 at Camden Yards. Aaron Judge delivered the game-winning 3-run homer in the final frame, as the Yanks beat Baltimore for the 18th straight time. Next up for the O’s, a home contest tonight against Tampa at 7:35.

The SEC has announced a 10-game football season that will begin September 26th. The SEC Championship will be pushed back to December 19th, just 13 days before the College Football Playoff semifinals. The Big-Ten and PAC-12 have already announced conference-only schedules, while the ACC plans to play just one non-conference game.

And the NBA restarted it’s season last night at it’s Disney World “bubble” in Orlando. There were two games on the schedule, as the Jazz beat the Pelicans 106-104, and the Lakers nipped the Clippers 103-101 in the nightcap. The Wizards play the Suns this afternoon at 4.
