Harper To Philadelphia…Local B-Ball Teams in Action…Caps Tonite
The big news this morning is that Bryce Harper has agreed to a massive 13-year, $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. It’s the largest deal in baseball history and includes a no-trade clause and no opt-outs.
The Shenandoah University women’s basketball team will begin play tonight in the NCAA Division-3 basketball tournament. The 16-13 Hornets will travel to DeSales University in the Delaware Valley of Pennsylvania. The Bulldogs are 25-2 and riding a 20-game win streak. Tip off is scheduled for 7pm.
Gettysburg swept SU in softball yesterday 18-11, and 9-0.
2 area girls high school basketball teams are still alive in the VHSL state tournament. The Strasburg Rams, the Region 2B Champs, take on Region 2A Runner-Up Maggie Wakler tonight at Stonewall Jackson High School. Tip off is scheduled for 7pm.
And, the Millbrook girls, the Region 4C Runner-Up, will play Region 4D Champ Carroll County tonight at Pulaski High School. That game begins at 6pm.
The Washington Capitals are back on the ice tonight against the New York Islanders. The Caps are 2 points behind the Isles, who lead the NHL’s Metro Division. Air time tonight is 6:45 on Sports Radio 1450.
