SU Baseball Ready For Semis, Corbin Stops Phillies, Caps-Bruins Tomorow
Shenandoah University Baseball will take on surprising Eastern Mennonite in the ODAC Tournament semifinals tomorrow at Bridgeforth Field in a best 2-of-3 series. The 28-9 Hornets and the 8-seed Royals will play game at 1 and 4. If a third game is neccesary, that game will be played Sunday.
Meanwhile, SU Track & Field will be in action today and tomorrow.
Patrick Corbin pitched 7 innings of 1-run baseball, and Josh Bell and Kyle Schwarber and Josh Bell cracked first-inning homers in a 5-1 Nats’ win over the Phillies yesterday. With the win, the 14-19 Nationals were able to salvage one game of the 3-game set, as they get ready for a weekend series in Arizona. Air time for game-1 with the D-Backs is 9:10 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Orioles begin a weekend series with the Yankees tonight at 7:05.
The Washington Capitals start the “second season” tomorrow when they host the Boston Bruins. The Caps finished the regular season in 2nd place in the NHL’s Eastern Division, 4 points ahead of the Bruins. AIr time is 7pm on The River 95-3.
And, the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown, the Preakness, will take place tomorrow at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Controversial Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit will run from the number-3 post position, and has been made a 9-5 favorite.
