ODAC Tourney Starts Today For SU Baseball, Braves Sweep Nats, Caps-Flyers Tonight
15th-ranked Shenandoah University begins play this afternoon in the ODAC Tournament, when they take on Hampden-Sydney at Bridgeforth Field. The 26-8 Hornets are the 4th seed, while the 17-12 Tigers are the 5th-seed. The first two games of the best-of-three series will be played today, at 2 and 5pm. A third game, if neccesary, would be played tomorrow.
The Atlanta Braves completed a 3-game sweep of the Washington Nationals with a 3-2 win in the getaway game yesterday. Drew Smyly stopped the Nats, giving up only one unearned in 6 innings of work. The Nats, who out-hit the Braves 8-4, got a 2-for-5 performance from Josh Harrison, take on the Yankees tonight starting at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Baltimore Orioles were off yesterday. They’ll start a weekend series with the Red Sox tonight at 7:05.
And the Washington Capitals take on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight in the first of 2 consecutive games. The Caps find themselves 2 points behind the Penguins for first place in the NHL’s Eastern Division. Air time tonight is 6:45 on the River 95-3.
