Area HS Football Sked, Nats, ‘Skins Circle the wagons In NY

The Friday night lights shine around the area with a full schedule of high school football. On the schedule:

Shenandoah University travels to Guilford Saturday for an ODAC matchup. The Hornets are coming off a 35-17 loss to Bridgewater last weekend at Shentel Stadium. Hornet Head Coach Scott Yoder talk about what it will take to beat the Quakers. (YODER cut) Air time is 12:30 tomorrow on The River 95-3.

Despite 422 passing yards from Aaron Rodgers, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers last night 34-27 as Week 4 got underway in the NFL. The Eagles improved to 2-2, while the Pack dropped to 3-1.

The 0-3 Washington Redskins head to The Big Apple to take on the New York Giants Sunday. The revitalized Giants, behind new starting QB Daniel Jones will entertain a Redskins team that has struggled on both sides of the ball, and has fans clamoring to see number one draft choice Dwayne Haskins get some playing time at quarterback. Kickoff is set for 1pm.

The Ravens host the Browns Sunday at 1.

Stephen Strasburg improved to 18-6 with a 6-inning, 10 strikeout performance as the Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-3 yesterday. Michael Taylor and Asdrubal Cabrera homered for the Nats, who completed a 5-game sweep of the Phils and stayed 1 game ahead of Milwaukee for the home field in Tuesday’s NL Wild Card game. The Nationals host the Cleveland Indians tonight starting at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.

And the NASCAR playoffs head to the Charlotte Motor Speedway this Sunday for the Bank of America ROVAL 400. The checkred flag drops at 2:30 pm.
