Nats Embarrassed, ‘Skins Talking to AP, O’s Blanked…

The lifeless Washington Nationals were held to just 1 run and 2 hits yesterday by Miami’s Jose Urena in a 12-1 loss in DC. The Nats’ Gio Gonzales struggled again yesterday, giving up 8 runs in less than 5 innings of work, as Washington fell to 62-63 on the year. The Nationals have the day off today before starting a series against Philadelphia Tuesday night. Air time is 6:30 on NBC Sports Radio 145o.

The Orioles were shut out by Cleveland yesterday 8-0. Melky Cabrera’s grand slam was the big blow for the Indians. The Birds travel to Toronto tonight for a 7:07 first pitch.

The Washington Redskins are reportedly talking to running back Adrian Peterson and former Chief’s RB Jamaal Charles. The ‘Skins are trying to fill the holes left by several recent injuries at that position.

On the PGA Tour, Brandt Snedeker won the Wyndham Championship yesterday by making birdie on the final hole. Snedeker jumped out to the early lead in the tournament with an 11-under 59 on Thursday.
