HS Football Results, Hornets Name Captains, Nats Bats Wake Up
Here are the high school football results from the weekend:
Skyline fell to Central on NBC SportsRadio 1450, 43-0
Warren County lost Saturday at the Handley Bowl 15-14
Strasburg clobbered Stonewall Jackson 47-0
Sherando defeated James Wood 65-6
Clarke lost at Dominion 25-14
Millbrook held on to beat Jefferson 30-26
and Page blanked Rappahannock 65-0
Shenandoah University Head Football Coach Scott Yoder has named his 4 captains for the upcoming season. They are seniors Hayden Bauserman, Andrew Coffman, Chris Grady, and junior Jordan Heisen. The Hornets kick off the season Saturday at 12:30 on the River 95-3 against Methodist.
The Nationals ended a 32-inning scoreless streak with a 15-0 win over the Mets yesterday at Citi Field. The Nats broke open a tight 1-0 game with 14 runs in the last 2 innings. Jeffrey Rodriguez tossed 6 shutout innings for the win. The Nationals visit Philadelphia tonight to start a 3-game series. Air time is 6:30 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The O’s lost 5-3 to the Yankees on “Sunday Night Baseball.”
Bryson Dechambeau won the Northern Trust Open in New Jersey in the PGA Tour Fed-Ex Cup opener. Tiger Woods was a distant 40th.
And Hawaii won the Little League World Series with a 3-0 win over South Korea.
