SU Update, CFP Bracket Is Set, ‘Skins Fall Short In Green Bay
On the Shenandoah University Scoreboard:
Men’s Basketball fell to Hampden-Sydney Saturday 78-73. The Hornets led by 11 in the second half, only to see the Tigers roar back and drop SU to 3-4 overall, and 1-1 in the ODAC. Chris Chaney led Shenandoah with 19. The Hornets return to action on the 19th against Albright in Puerto Rico.
The SU Women won their 5th straight, a 52-43 ODAC win over Roanoke.
Sierra St. Cyr and Jordan Sondrol had 9 aptece for the 5-2, 3-0 Hornets, who play in Puerto Rico on the 19th against Loras College.
Indoor Track & Field opened it’s season Saturday at roanoke. The Hornets got first place finishes by John Kindig in the weight throw, and Emily Miller in the 3000.
The final College Football Playoff rankings were released yesterday.
It’ll be number-1 LSU taking on number-4 Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl, while number-2 Ohio State faces number-3 Clemson in the Fiesta. Both games will be played December 28th.
Virginia, losers to Clemson in the ACC title game, will play Florida in the Orange Bowl on December 30th. Virginia Tech will take on Kentucky in the Belk Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
The Redskins lost to the Packers yesterday 20-15. The Pack jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the ‘Skins defense tightened up. An injured Dwayne Haskins threw for 170 yards as Washington falls to 3-10.
The Ravens clinched an AFC playoff spot yesterday with a 24-17 win at Buffalo. Lamar Jackson threw for 3 TD’s, as Baltimore improved to 11-2.
In the NFL Sunday Night matchup, the Rams dominated the Seahawks 28-12, and in the Monday Night game tonight, it’s the Giants at the Eagles. With a win, Philadelphia would move into a tie in the NFC East.
