SU Recap, Caps Bounce Back, Defenders Routed In LA
On the Shenandoah University sports scene from the weekend…
Women’s basketball locked down a 5-seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament with a 63-48 win at Hollins. The Hornets, who finished the regular season at 16-9, and 12-6 in the league, will now face 4-seed Randolph Macon in the conference quarterfinals Thursday in Salem. Tip off is at 3.
The SU men needed a Saturday win at Emory & Henry to get into the ODAC Tournament, but saw their season end with an 88-84 loss to the Wasps. The men finish their season at 6-19 and 3-13 in the league.
Meanwhile, Hornet baseball stayed undefeated with a 12-5 win yesterday against Susquehanna.

The Washington Capitals regained first-place in the NHL’s Metro Division yesterday with a 5-3 win over rival Pittsburgh. TJ Oshie netted the go-ahead goal midway through the third period as the Caps
snapped a 4-game losing skid. The Capitals host Winnipeg tomorrow at 6:45 on CBS Sports Radio 1450.
In Spring Training baseball yesterday, Miami beat the Nationals 5-2. The Nats will take on the Mets this afternoon at 1:05.
And, the DC Defenders lost their first XFL game of the season as they were routed by Josh Johnson and the LA Wildcats 39-9. DC quarterback Cardale Jones threw 4 picks on the day as the Defenders dropped to 2-1 on the season.
