VBL Update, Nats Finish 5-1 Road Trip, Wimbledon Begins

Strasburg split 2 with Harrisonburg, winning 5-2, and losing 3-0
Charlottesville nipped Front Royal 2-1
Woodstock defeated Waynesboro 8-3
Winchester beat Staunton 3-1
And New Market and Covington split a doubleheader

Max Scherzer completed a 6-0 June by allowing just one run and striking out 14 over 8 innings in a 2-1 Nationals’ win at Detroit.
Anthony Rendon slugged his 19th home run with a solo shot in the 8th inning that proved to be the difference. And Sean Doolittle earned his 100th career save as the Nats finished off a 5-1 road trip. The Nationals return home to face the Miami Marlins starting tomorrow night at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
Shane Bieber blanked the Baltimore Orioles yesterday in a 2-0 Cleveland Indians’ win over the Birds. The O’s travel to tampa tonight to take on the Rays at 7:10.
