NHL & Union Agree On Protocols, DeChambeau Wins Rocket, Harvick Wins
The NHL and the players’ union agreed on protocols for health and safety measures on Sunday to resume the suspended season. The two sides are still negotiating an extension of the collective bargaining agreement. If everything is agreed to and ratified, games would return in late July or early August, with 24 teams taking part in an expanded playoff format.
Bryson DeChambeau won the PGA Rocket Mortgage Classic by 3 shots over Matthew Wolff at Detroit Golf Club. The 26 year-old finished with a career-best 23 under par 265. The tournament was the fourth since the
PGA restart, and was played without a gallery.
Kevin Harvick won NASCAR’s Brickyard 400 yesterday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning that event for the second straight year. Harvick tied Denny Hamlin with a season-high fourth victory. Seven-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson wasn’t in what was supposed to have been his final Brickyard 400, as he was quarantining home after testing positive for the coronavirus on Friday.
And, 2 unnamed Washington National have tested positive for Covid-19, according to Fox-5 TV in Washington. No other information was released by the team. MLB’s Opening Day is currently scheduled for July 23rd, with no fans in attendance.
