MLB Players Make Proposal, Keselowski Wins At Bristol, NHL Testing

MLB players have proposed a 114-game regular season schedule, 32 more than the league’s proposal, with no additional pay cuts beyond what they agreed to in March, according to reports. Both would increase the number of postseason teams from 10 to 14, and players would get 70 percent of their salary under the proposal, unlike the league’s sliding salary scale plan. The two sides have a “soft window” of this week to get a deal done if they want to start the season in early July.

Brad Keselowski got his second NASCAR Cup win of the season Sunday at Bristol after leaders Chase Elliott and Joey Logano collided in front of him with one lap to go. As with all NASCAR races since it’s return two weeks ago, there were no fans.

The NHL plans to test players every day for the coronavirus if and when play resumes. Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said that any player, coach, or staffer who tested positive would be immediately isolated, and may not necessarily mean play would have to be suspended again. The NHL announced last week that play could resume in late July or early August.
