Nats Go Back-To-Back-To-Back-To-Back, O’s Blanked, VBL Washed Out

The Washington Nationals became only the 9th team in major league history to hit 4 consecutive homers in the same inning as the defeated the San Diego Padres yesterday 5-2. The Nats broke open a 1-1 tie when Howie Kendrick, Trea Turner, Adam Eaton, and Anthony Rendon hit solo shots against former National Craig Stammen. Stephen Strasburg picked up the win for DC, allowing only 1 run in 7 innings of work, while striking out 6. The Nats, who salvaged a weekend split with the Padres, now head to Chicago for 2 games against the White Sox. Air time tonight is 7:40 on Sports Radio 1450.
Yordan Alvarez hit a 2-run homer in his Major League debut, as the Houston Astros blanked the Baltimore Orioles yesterday 4-0. The Birds return to host Toronto tonight at 7:05.
The Boston Bruins routed the St. Louis Blues yesterday 5-1 to tie the Stanley Cup Finals at 3 games apiece. The deciding Game 7 will take place Wednesday night in Boston.
And Rory McIlroy fired a 9-under 61 yesterday to win the PGA’s Royal Canadian Open. Golf’s top players will now head to Pebble Beach this week for the 3rd major of the year, the US Open.
