Newton To Pats, DJ Wins Travelers, Harvick & Hamlin Win Pocono DH

The New England Patriots have reached a deal with free-agent Cam Newton to become their new quarterback, according to multiple sources. The 2015 NFL MVP agreed to a one-year deal worth $7.5 million. Newton takes over for Tom Brady, who left for Tampa Bay after 20 years and six Super Bowl championships.

Dustin Johnson won the PGA Travelers Championship yesterday, beating fellow American Kevin Streelman by one shot at the TPC River Highlands course in Connecticut. Johnson finished at 19 under-par for his 21st Tour win. There were no fans in attendance.

After Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin finished 1-2 Saturday night at Pocono Raceway, the two NASCAR drivers flipped the script yesterday at the same track. Pocono on Sunday became the first track in NASCAR history to hold 3 national series races on the same day, as Brandon Jones won a truck series event, and Chase Briscoe won the Xfinity race.

And, the Washington Nationals released their player pool this weekend for the shortened 2020 season. The Nats are scheduled to host the New York Yankees in DC on the 23rd or 24th of July.
