SU Weekend Recap, Caps Get 40th Win, Hokies Lose To Cardinals
On the Shenandoah University scoreboard from the weekend:
Baseball suffered it’s first loss of the season in a doubleheader split yesterday against Immaculata. The Hornets picked up a 14-13, 12-inning win in the opener, before dropping a 9-1 decision in the nightcap.
Track and Field competed in the ODAC Championships, where the women finished 6th and the men finished 4th.
Women and Men’s Lacrosse picked up weekend wins.
Alex Ovechkin scored 2 first period goals and the Washington Capitals
hing on for a 4-3 win in Minnesota last night. With the victory, the Caps improved to 40-19-6 and remained atop the NHL’s Metro Division. Next up for the Capitals, a Wednesday home skate against the Flyers. Air time is 6:45 on CBS Sports Radio 1450.
In college basketball, the Virginia Tech Hokies dropped to 15-14 with a 68-52 ACC loss at #11 Louisville yesterday. In other college hoop from the weekend:
UVA stunned Duke 52-50
and WVU continued it’s free-fall, losing to Oklahoma 73-62 at home.
Alex Bowman won the NASCAR Cup Auto Club 400 in California yesterday,
In the XFL last night, the DC Defenders lost for the 2nd time in a row, losing to Tampa Bay 25-0
And the Washington Nationals entertain the Miami Marlins in Spring Training baseball this afternoon at 1:05.
