Hornet Recap, Scherzer Stops Marlins, Caps-Rangers Tonight
On the Shenandoah University scoreboard from yesterday, Men’s Track & Field finished third, while the Women finished fifth at the ODAC Outdoor Championships. Baseball finished it’s regular season at 26-8 with a 14-4 win over Mount Aloysius. And Men’s Tennis lost to Virginia Wesleyan in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament.
There are no events scheduled today. Baseball will play this coming weekend in the ODAC Tournament.
The Washington Nationals are now tied for first place in the NL East after a 3-1 win over Miami yesterday. Max Scherzer threw a complete game 5-hitter to complete the 3-game sweep, then hurried off to be with his wife for the birth of their third child. Ryan Zimmerman launched a 3-run homer for the Nats, who are off today before starting a 3-game series against the Braves tomorrow on Sports Radio 1450.
The O’s were nipped by the A’s 7-5 yesterday. The Birds take on Seattle tonight at 10:10.
The Washington Capitals skate against the New York rangers tonight. The Caps now find themselves in second place in the NHL’s Eastern Division after losing 2 straight to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Air time tonight is 6:45 on The River 95-3.
And, Kyle Busch celebrated his birthday with a win at Kansas Speedway yesterday in the NASCAR Cup Series.
