NFL Plans To Start On Time, Another Win For Byron, Virtual Derby
The NFL isn’t planning on delaying it’s season because of the pandemic. League spokesman Brian McCarthy told ESPN the NFL will release it’s schedule this week without any major changes, saying “We plan to start on time.” That includes a September 10th opening date and the Super Bowl on February 7th.
Driver William Byron scored his third victory Sunday in NASCAR’s iRacing Series out of four events that have been held. He got the win at a virtual Dover International Speedway, where NASCAR had been scheduled to actually race yesterday. NASCAR will will race for real on May 17th at Darlington, without spectators.
And, Secretariat won Saturday’s virtual Kentucky derby, defeating a field of 12 other Triple Crown winners. The Race was run on a virtual Churchill Downs track, where the real Run For The Roses was supposed to have taken place Saturday. The real Kentucky Derby has been postponed to September 5th due to the coronavirus.
