NFL Recap, Richmond Hoop Stuns Kentucky, Old Guys Fight
In the NFL yesterday, the New York Giants took over first place in the NFC East with a 19-17 win over the Bengals. Kansas City nipped Tom Brady and the Bucs 27-24. Denver, playing essentially without a quarterback, fell to the Saints 31-3. And Aaron Rodgers threw 4 TD passes in a 41-25 Packers win over the Bears in the Sunday Night Game. The Eagles will try to take back possession of first place in the NFC East when they entertain Seattle tonight at 8:15.
The Washington Football Team and the Baltimore Ravens did not play yesterday. The Ravens are scheduled to take on the Steelers tomorrow night at 8. That game has been moved twice because of coronavirus concerns.
In college football this weekend, Liberty routed UMass Friday 45-0. UVA, Virginia Tech, and WVU did not play.
Richmond outscored Kentucky 48-32 in the second half yesterday and shocked the number-10 Wildcats 76-64 in college basketball. Nathan Cayo and Blake Francis each had 18 points to pace the 2-0 Spiders. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech improved to 3-0 with a 76-58 win over South Florida.
And, 54 year-old Mike Tyson and 51 year-old Roy Jones Junior got into the boxing ring one more time Saturday. The match was not officially scored, but Yahoo Sports scored the match for Tyson, 6 rounds to 2.
