Hornets Win , Dallas Downs ‘Skins, Sanchez & Nats Salvage Finale

Warren County beat Independence 27-24
James Wood defeated Skyline 48-14
Sherando was blanked by Martinsburg 37-0
Clarke downed Monroe 26-7
Millbrook beat Heritage 31-10
Central shut out Broadway 41-0
In the college ranks, Shenandoah University took advantage of 5 NC Wesleyan interceptions to defeat the Bishops 35-19 Saturday in Rocky Mount, NC. The 1-0 Hornets led 21-0 at the half before Wesleyan pulled to within 21-19 in the fourth quarter. SU then righted the ship with the final 2 scores of the game. Running back Rashadeen Byrd had 3 TDs for the Hornets, who begin ODAC play when they host Bridgewater Saturday starting at 6:30 on The River 95-3.
The Washington Redskins fell to 0-2 on the season with a 31-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys yesterday at Fed-Ex Field. The ‘Skins jumped out to a 7-0 lead on an Adrian Peterson score, only to see Dallas pull away to a 21-7 lead. Dak Prescott threw for 3 TDs, and Ezekiel Elliott ran for 111 yards to lead the 2-0 Cowboys. Next up for the Redskins is a Monday night game next week against the Bears.
The Baltimore Ravens improved to 2-0 with a 23-17 win over Arizona.
Atlanta held off the Eagles 24-20 in the NFL Sunday Night game,
and the Browns take on the Jets tonight in the Monday Night contest.
The Washington Nationals salvaged their series finale against the Braves yesterday with a 7-0 win. Anibal Sanchez threw 7 innings of shutout ball, while Howie Kendrick drove in 3 for the Nats. The Nationals now head to St. Louis for a 3 game series with the Cardinals. Air time tonight is 7:15 on Sports Radio 1450.
And…Martin Truex Jr. won the Monster Series event in Vegas, as the
NASCAR playoffs began. Next up, the Federated Auto Parts 400 Saturday in Richmond.
