Nats End With A Curly W, Miscues Hurt WFT, Ravens-Chiefs Tonight
Trea Turner drove in 7 runs in a season-ending 15-5 Washington Nationals win over the Mets yesterday. Turner’s day included a grand slam and a 2-run single, and the Nats took advantage of 11 walks by New York pitchers in the rout. Despite the win, the 26-34 Nationals will miss the expanded 16-team MLB postseason, which begins tomorrow.
Of note, the Nats’ Juan Soto won the NL batting title with a .351 average.
The Orioles ended their season with a 7-5 win over Toronto yesterday. The Birds finish at 25-35.
The Washington Football Team committed 5 turnovers yesterday in a 34-20 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Washington QB Dwayne Haskins threw 3 interceptions and fumbled once as the burgundy and gold fell to 1-2 on the season. Washington’s first-round draft choice Chase Young left the game early with a groin injury. The WFT host the Baltimore Ravens Sunday at 1.
