Sports Radio 1450 High School Broadcasts

16 August 2017 News Sports

Royal Broadcasting will once again be providing high school football game broadcasts in Warren County as part of our ongoing outreach and interaction with our community. Sports Radio 1450 will provide live broadcasts of games for Skyline High School and Warren County High School for the 2017 season.

Coach Jimmy Bowman and Charles Harbaugh will bring the community quality play-by-play and color commentary during games. Harbaugh returns for his third season while Bowman is in his first.

“WFTR and WZRV have been heavily involved in local programming since the beginning,” said Andrew Shearer, President of Royal Broadcasting Incorporated. “High School and Collegiate sports are about as local as it gets and our audience responds positively.  With our on-going relationship with Shenandoah University sports and Warren County and Skyline, the stations will continue to serve in that local capacity”.

Although both high schools are a part of the Northwestern District, they will both play a lot of local competition, including Shenandoah Valley schools, including the likes of Strasburg, James Wood, and John Handey. District play for both schools will include Brentsville, Culpeper, Manassas Park, and William Monroe.

Broadcasts will be live on air on Sports Radio 1450 on the nights indicated below. Game audio will also be available online post-broadcast, at theriver953.com under the “On Demand” section.

A total of 10 games are scheduled for broadcast, 5 at each school. The season is planned on culminating with the annual cross county rival game. This year the game takes place at Skyline High School on November 3.
