Wimbledon Makes It Official, Pay Cut For NBA Players?, Possible MLB Start Date
As expected, this year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament has been canceled for the first time since World War II. The All England Club made the announcement yesterday, and now will hand over their facility to Britain’s National Health Service for the duration of the coronavirus crisis.
The NBA and the pro basketball player’s union are in early talks on reducing player salaries until games can resume. Sources say a clause in the player’s contracts could allow an average pay cut of about 25 percent based on the cancelation of the rest of the season.
And if you’re wondering when the MLB season could begin, how about July 4th? According to reports, that date is being discussed in MLB circles. It’ll be awhile, though, before an exact return date is seriously talked about.
