SU Men’s LAX Falls To Lynchburg, Nats Blank Cards, Caps Back In Action Tonight
On the Shenandoah University scoreboard, number-5 Lynchburg stormed to a 10-0 lead on the way to a 17-7 Men’s Lacrosse win. Meanwhile, five Hornets were named to the All-ODAC Football team. Punter/Kicker Patrick Ritchie was the lone first team selection.
Today on the Shenandoah University schedule, Softball hosts Eastern Mennonite in a 3pm doubleheader, while Volleyball plays at W&L.
The Washington Nationals shut out the St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 yesterday in windy conditions at Nats Park. Max Scherzer got out of a first-inning jam on the way to a 6-inning, 9 strikeout performance. Alex Avila’s RBI double in the second provided the only run of the contest, as the Nats improved to 7-9. Washington is off today, before starting a weekend series against the Mets on Sports Radio 1450.
And, the Washington Capitals return to action when they skate against the New York Islanders. The two teams are tied at the top of the NHL’s Eastern Division with 62 points. You can catch the action starting at 6:45 on the River 95-3.
