SU Baseball Wins, Caps Ousted By’Canes, A Curly “L” For The Nats
Shenandoah University baseball completed a season sweep of Messiah yesterday with a come-from-behind 11-8 non-league victory. Down 8-6, SU scored a run in the 5th, three more in the 8th, and another run in the 9th to seal the deal. The 22-11 Hornets are trying to fill a schedule vacancy today, and get back into ODAC play Saturday against Guilford.

And Bridgewater blanked Men’s tennis 9-0
There are no athletic events scheduled today.
There will be no repeat for the Washington Capitals, who were eliminated in double overtime last night by Carolina 4-3 in game seven of their opening round NHL playoff series. The Caps squandered leads of 2-0 and 3-1 before surrendering the winning goal 11 minutes into the second extra period. The Hurricanes, who came back from a 2-0 series defecit, will now take on the New York Islanders in the second round.
The Washington Nationals dropped a 9-5 decision in Colorado yesterday. Juan Soto’s 2-run home run helped the Nats to an early 3-0 lead before the Rockies scored 4 runs in the 3rd and 2 more in the 4th off of Anibal Sanchez, who took the loss for the 11-12 Nationals.
The Nats return home Friday to start a series against the San Diego Padres. Air time is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450
The Baltimore Orioles won their second straight game, nipping the Chicago White Sox 4-3 at Camden Yards. The Birds travel to Minnesota tomorrow night to start a weekend series against the Twins.
And, the NFL Draft begins tonight in Nashville, Tennessee. The Washington Redskins will pick 15th, and are expected to take a quarterback. Arizona has the overall number one pick.
