SU Scoreboard, Nats, Caps-Pens Play Tonight For First Place
In Shenandoah University action yesterday, Women’s Lacrosse advanced to the semis of the ODAC Tournament with a 17-11 win over Randolph Macon. Baseball nipped Wilson 6-5 on Senior Day. Virginia Wesleyan eliminated the Hornets from the ODAC Volleyball Tournament 3-1. And Roanoke defeated Women’s Tennis 5-4 in the ODAC quarterfinals.
There are no SU sports scheduled for today.
The Washington Nationals’ offense came alive last night in an 8-2 win over the Jays. Trea Turner led the Nats with 4 hits, while Eric Fedde pitched 6 innings of one-run, two-hit baseball. The Nats are off today before starting a weekend series tomorrow with the Marlins on Sports Radio 1450.
The Yankees blanked the Orioles 7-0. The two teams wrap up that series today at 1:05.
First place is up for grabs tonight when the Washington Capitals skate against rival Pittsburgh. The Caps lead the Pens by just a point in the tight NHL Eastern Division. Air time is 6:45 on the River 95-3.
And, the 86th edition of the NFL Draft begins tonight in Cleveland and lasts through Saturday. The overall first pick by Jacksonville is expected to be Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Washington Football Team has the 19th overall pick.
