Nats Rout Bucs, South Riding LL Loses To Hawaii, Skins-Falcons Tonite
The Washington Nationals cruised to an 11-1 win last night over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Patrick Corbin tossed 8 shutout innings to get the win for the Nats, whose starters have yet to yield a run in the series. Asdrubal Cabrera delivered the big blow of the game, a 3-run homer that broke the game open in a 6-run third inning. The Nationals send Max Scherzer to the mound tonight at PNC Park. Air time is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Baltimore Orioles collected 12 hits on the way to an 8-1 win over Kansas City. It was the second straight over the Royals win for the O’s, who host Tampa tonight at 7:05.
The South Riding All-Stars from Loudoun County fell to Hawaii last night 12-9 at the Little League World Series. They’ll now play an elimination game against Louisiana tonight at 7 for a berth in the US title game and a rematch against Hawaii.
The Washington Redskins will be in Atlanta tonight for an NFL Preseason contest against the Falcons. Kickoff is set for 7:30.
And, the PGA Tour Championship begins today at East Lake Country Club in Atlanta. Under the Fed-Ex Cup Playoff format, Justin Thomas will begin play today with a 2-shot lead at 10-under par.
