Another Walk-Off for Zim, O’s Blanked, Meyer Suspended…
Ryan Zimmerman’s 11th career walk-off home run propelled the Washington Nationals to their second straight win over the Phillies, 8-7. Once again, the Nats had to come from behind on a night when Stephen Strasburg returned from the DL. Strasburg gave up 5 earned runs, but the Nats offense provided him with 14 hits, including 3 from Bryce Harper. The nationals go for the sweep this afternoon at 12:30 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
Meanwhile, the Orioles lost their 90th game of the season, as they were blanked by Toronto 6-0. The O’s return home to face the Yankees tomorrow night at Camden Yards.
The Redskins host the Denver Broncos Friday night in week 3 of the preseason. Among the inactives tomorrow for the Skins are Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson.
The Ravens entertain the Dolphins Saturday night.
Ohio State Head Football Coach Urban Meyer has been suspended for 3 games for his role in the alleged domestic abuse by assistant Zach Smith. An investigation concluded that although Meyer didn’t condone or cover up the alleged domestic abuse, he failed to take sufficient action.
