Cavs Clamp Down On Jackets, SU Hoop Tonight, Hornets Picked Second

There was no area high school basketball last night.

In College Basketball, Virginia overcame a 6-point halftime deficit and held Georgia Tech to just 23 second-half points in a 57-49 road win last night. The 9th ranked Cavaliers were led by Trey Murphy’s 18 points as they improved to 15-3.

Shenandoah University basketball will play at Randolph tonight, weather permitting. Tip off is at 7.

The SU Baseball team has been picked to finish second in the ODAC in a preseason coaches poll released yesterday by the league. The Hornets, who are the 2-time defending ODAC champs, are ranked 35th nationally, as they get set to start their 2021 season on March 6th.

And, the Toronto Raptors outscored the Washington Wizards last night 137-115. Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook combined for 47 points in the loss.
