Royals Down Hornet Hoop, Cavs Drop Third Straight, Caps-Pens Tonight
Shenandoah University Men’s Basketball saw Eastern Mennonite erase a 12-point halftime lead on the way to a 79-67 ODAC road loss last night. The 2-1 Royals outscored SU 54-30 after the break to run away from the 0-7 Hornets. Andres Frye led Shenandoah with 22 points.
Tonight, the Hornet Women play at Washington & Lee. Tip off is 7pm.
The Virginia Cavaliers are going in the wrong direction. The Hoos lost their third straight game, falling to NC State at home, 68-61. The 15-6 Cavaliers shot just 37 percent from the field, and made only 7 of their 25 three-pointers. Sam Hauser had 21 for Virginia.
And, the Washington Capitals host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight. The Caps trail the Boston Bruins by 2 points in the NHL’s Eastern Division after a 3-2 overtime loss to the Pens on Tuesday. You can catch the action tonight starting at 6:45 on The River 95-3.
