Hot shooting Bridgewater soared to a 94-72 ODAC men’s basketball win over Shenandoah last night. The Eagles broke open a tight contest and held the Hornets scoreless for the final 3:17 of the first half and led by 16 at the break. SU, now 5-17 and 1-12 in league play, was led by Alan Dabney’s 20 points. The Hornet men now head to Lynchburg for a Saturday 5:30 tip on The River 95-3.
The Shenandoah University baseball team has been picked to finish second in the pre-season ODAC poll released yesterday by the league.
The Hornets, who are the defending league champs, begin play next Saturday against nationally-ranked Misericordia.
Meanwhile, the SU softball team is the pre-season number 11 pick in the ODAC pre-season poll released yesterday.
The Washington Nationals and Jeremy Hellickson have agreed to a 1-year, $1.3 million contract. The right-hander could earn $4 million more in incentives, depending on the number of games he starts. Hellickson was 5-3 with the Nats last year with a 3.45 ERA. Nationals baseball can be heard again this season on Sports Radio 1450.
