The Shenandoah University men fell to #3 Randolph-Macon last night in Ashland 85-59. The Yellow Jackets cruised to a 46-21 halftime lead and never looked back against the 6-13, 3-7 Hornets. Alan Dabney led SU with 12 points. The Hornets return home Saturday to take on Hampden-Sydney starting at 1:45 on The River 95-3
The SU women fought back from a 21-point deficit but ultimately fell short in a 65-57 loss to Washington & Lee last night at the Wilkins Center. Down 55-34, Shenandoah went on a 17-2 run to pull within 6, but could get no closer. The Hornets were led by Olivia Weinel, who had 17. Next up for the SU women, a 4:30 home matchup Saturday against Ferrum.
In other college hoop, #12 WVU dropped an 89-81 decision to Texas Tech last night in Lubbock. The Mounties fall to 16-4 on the season, and 4-3 in the Big 12.
The Washington Capitals came back from 3-1 down to take a 4-3 lead against Nashville, only to see the Predators score 2 third period goals to win 5-4 in DC. Alex Ovechkin had a goal and an assist in the loss, as the Caps fall to 34-12-5. Next up for the Capitals, a 7:30 skate tomorrow against Ottawa on CBS Sports Radio 1450.
