Valley League Update, British Open Underway, Nats Back In Action Friday
On the Valley Baseball League scoreboard last night, New Market took two from Winchester, 5-0 & 8-2. Strasburg outscored Front Royal 11-8. Tonight’s games include Front Royal at Woodstock, and Purcellville at Strasburg.
The 149th British Open Championship, golf’s final major of the year, is underway at Royal St. George’s in Sandwich, England. Play got underway at 1:35 am Eastern time. Among the players already out on the course are Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Jordan Spieth. Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, and Rory McIlroy are among the players who will tee it up later today.
And, the Washington Nationals return to action tomorrow after the MLB All-Star Break. The Nats start the second half of the season at 42-47, 6 games behind the NL East-leading New York Mets. Washigton will start a weekend series at home against San Diego. Air time tomorrow is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
